Plates, filaments & components

Price complex prints while keeping quick calculations simple.

On this page

Use quick or detailed mode

Every estimate starts with Plate 1. Enter filament amounts and print time for one run of that layout, then set Plate runs to repeat it. Finished units is the total number of items you will sell across the order, not a multiplier for print inputs. Free supports one repeatable layout with up to 10 filaments. Maker unlocks Add another plate for distinct layouts.

Price every plate

Add each distinct layout once, with its print duration and filament entries per run. Set its own Plate runs count rather than duplicating rows. For 500 owls with 40 per plate, enter 13 runs and 500 finished units; this conservatively estimates 13 full plates. On paid plans you can instead enter 12 full runs and a second layout for the final 20 owls using its slicer values. The editor supports 20 distinct layouts on paid plans and 10 filament entries per layout on every plan. Printer and electricity assumptions apply across the order; paid failure reserves cover failed attempts separately.

Track components individually

Expand Track components individually to add named costs such as magnets, inserts or key rings. Select whether a component cost applies per item or per order. Maker can reuse saved component profiles. The editor supports up to 50 component entries.

Avoid double counting

Use either the quick material total or detailed plate inputs for the chosen mode. Similarly, use the combined extra-material amount or the itemized component list. Review quantities, packaging and shipping so an order-wide cost is not repeated for every item.
